Nurturing Ingenuity: When nature has already provided a gift

by SBG

Imagine a world where we never heard Beethoven, nor heard RBG speak, Michael Jackson sing, never experienced an iPhone, where Usain Bolt never ran, a world where Einstein never was. Ingenuity, excellence regardless of its form, needs to be nurtured to flourish so billions can see and benefit from that ingenuity.

Every Genius, Judge, Doctor, Nurse, Congressman/woman, Senator, President, Queen, King, Princess, Inventor was once a zygote

Underestimate no person nor their capacity…

  • We should allow true vision to detect potential in people and ideas
  • On detection of that potential, foster it
  • Provide resources to persons with potential
  • Then allow that person to compete with peers as only through competition will that golden potential and it’s benefits be truly realized.

What is the use or value of the biggest basket of a the most exquisite, super expensive, exotic, fruit if you cannot get it the relevant market for sale?

Remember: if darkness did not exist as a contrast to light, the gift of light would not be truly realized…and among varying types/brightness of light: we would not be able to perceive the true brilliance of the most intense and illuminous 100 watt lightbulb if we were not given the opportunity to compare it to say a 25 watt lightbulb.

So Again:

Imagine a world where we never got to see Usain Bolt run, never heard RBG speak, never saw Michael Jackson dance nor heard him sing, where we never experienced the joy of using an iPhone, never had the pleasure of hearing Beethoven, a world where Einstein’s theory of relativity never  existed….Ingenuity, excellence regardless of its form, needs to be encouraged, nurtured in order for it to achieve its full potential… then it has to be witnessed, discovered by the world so that nations: billions of people can derive joy or reckon with that ingenuity.

Special Task…Special Attention

You may juggle rubber balls because if one falls, it won’t break.

However, do not juggle eggs nor any other fragile thing that will break if dropped. Instead work on the manageable quantity or multiple of that fragile thing carefully in a reasonably allotted time that will allow you to do it well.

Therefore: Be careful with issues or objects of much value: give them the time and care they deserve: the time and care that will preserve and nurture them.

Experience and Learning

  • No person was born with years of experience.
  • No person was born a professor, no person was born with years or wisdom or knowledge and
  • Absolutely no one was born an expert in their respective field: every accomplished person had to learn.
  • We must all learn.

So the next time you decline to hire a young or inexperienced person because he or she lacks experience, please remember that you too learned your ABCs, learned to write, became educated through life or formal academia and then someone took the chance to employ you when you were inexperienced.

For how will experience be achieved if no one is willing to teach nor willing to allow a learning experience?

Fervently hire the inexperienced among us while we still have the blessing of the lives of those who are experienced. For the rapidly escalating COVID-19 pandemic has taught us much about the possible brevity of life. If the knowledge of the experienced is not imparted to the inexperienced, then that precious knowledge and wisdom will die with he or she who is experienced.

So imagine a world in January 2021 where we have lost 30% of those world-renowned, those with unmatched experience: experts at the pinnacle of their careers and the prime of there lives at age 60-79 or even younger or older…

Imagine that these precious human resources did not have a condition that resulted in them chronicling the vast extent of their expertise and know-how in a written format with diagrams designed to impart the wealth of their knowledge to their successors? After all, many experts do not write books, and those who do write books do not necessarily write every single thing needed to learn their art in their absence nor are their works written in the form necessary to teach a 5 year old.

So imagine losing those precious souls and not having a back-up of their life’s work saved to your hard drive…

The scenario brings sadness and perspective.

Optimally Functioning Love does not Enable

Optimally Functional love ought to be brutally honest and helpful when a crucial matter is in jeopardy: be it life, safety, food, shelter, sight or limb: it is not politically correct.

Dysfunctional love tends to be politically correct, fearful, enabling in a similarly crucial scenario.
